How to Dispose of Batteries Safely

Alkaline, lithium and coin cells each need different handling — do not put them in regular trash.

Alkaline (AA/AAA/9V) can go to household recycling bins or retail collection points in most regions. Lithium and rechargeable batteries must never go to general waste — they cause fires at waste facilities.

Tape the terminals of loose cells (especially 9V and button cells) before dropping them off: short circuits are the main cause of recycling bin fires.

For retailers and OEM customers, we supply batteries in UN38.3-certified export packaging and documentation — safe handling starts at the factory.
