Button Cell Battery Safety Guide

Why button cells are a swallowing hazard and how compliant packaging prevents it.

Button cells are dangerous if swallowed: burns can occur within 2 hours. Keep cells always in packaging and out of reach of children.

Retail in the EU/USA requires child-resistant packaging for 3V lithium coin cells — our folding child-resistant cards with bilingual warnings are certified to that requirement.

Backup tip: tape used button cells and store them separate — loose cells in drawers are the common accident source.
